Each year, we organise a number of select events featuring many of the world’s finest wines, such as Prestige Cuvée Champagne, Grand Cru Burgundy, classed growth Bordeaux, Super-Tuscans and high-end Californian Cabernets.
These are run by our Director Simon Woods, who over several years of experience in the wine trade has travelled to most of the world’s most famous vineyard regions, and also judged at wine competitions on four continents. He’s been a columnist for The Financial Times ‘The Business’ magazine, co-coordinator of the annual International Wine Challenge, a columnist for The Financial Times ‘The Business’ magazine and a contributor to numerous magazines. As well as editing five editions of the Which? Wine Guide, he has written several books including the award-winning ‘I don’t know much about wine but I know what I like’, and he was voted International Online Wine Columnist of the Year prize at the Louis Roederer International Wine Writers’ Awards.
Not only is he experienced in hosting wine tastings for groups of all sizes and shapes, he does it while bringing a smile to people’s faces. ‘We’ve had lots of speakers, some of whom were entertaining and some of whom were informative – you’re one of very few who was both.’
