Vive La France - Champagne and other French Sparkling wine super tasting
Join us in Manchester for a wonderful night of Champagne and Sparkling wine from France. On the night we will taste 8 wines, showcasing the best fizz france has to offer.
Campagne is one of the most iconic wines in the world- tonight we will learn about the historical method which gives us this beautiful bubbly. We will touch on the imput of figures such as Dom Perignon, Lily Bollinger and Vueve Clicquot, whose Champagnes are now so familar to us. We will also discuss the technical terms behind the labels such as 'NV', 'Brut' and 'Blanc de Blanc': what do these actually tell us about the drink inside the bottle? But the world of bubbly wine is far more diverse than Champagne alone; we will examine other sparkling wines, made in other regions France and ask 'are they as good?' and 'are they really so different from the real thing?'
We usually taste 6 wines at our evening events but on this night we will treat our guests to 8, and with some really high quality, big price tag wines in the mix too!
Tasting notes and some palate cleansing nibbles also included.
