Old World v New World Superstars - Saturday afternoon 8 wine tasting
What better way to fight the cold and post-Christmas blues than to book into a fabulous wine tasting in Manchester City Centre on a Saturday afternoon? After the runaway success of "Old World v New World Superstars" in 2019, once again we’ll be gathering at the Royal Exchange to pit some of the best European wines against their counterparts from other parts of the globe.
During the two-hour session, we’ll taste eight wines with an average price of £25+ per bottle, and there'll also be some cheese and charcuterie to nibble on. At just £45 a person it’s brilliant value, as well as being a Perfect Christmas Gift to treat someone who really loves their wine.
The 'Away' team last time featured Chardonnay from New Zealand, Pinot Noir from South Africa, Shiraz from Australia and Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile. For our 2020 event, the line-up is still to be completely finalised, but chances are that we’ll be trying New World wines that can take on the best of Champagne, the Loire Valley, Bordeaux (again, but with the focus on Merlot this time) and Priorat.
It’s an excellent chance for beginners and seasoned wine tasters alike to decide whether you favour the Old World, the New World, or just any wine as long as it’s very good!
If you wish to indulge in another fantastic showcase after we have a Prestige Champagne and Sparkling Wine Masterclass on 20/06/2020 at 2-4pm
Do you know someone who'd enjoy this tasting? It would make a great gift! Like all our events if you book a place, we can send you a gift voucher for the tasting. Just click on the email when you receive your confirmation, request a voucher and we'll do the rest. This would make a delicious way to end a day out in Manchester City Centre
Or do you want to buy a gift but let them choose which tasting they want to go to? Purchase a Manchester Wine School "open" gift voucher, with lots of different events available each month, they can decide for themselves.
