A Rum Do with Dave Marsland of Manchester Rum Festival

A Rum Do with Dave Marsland of Manchester Rum Festival

A new event for Manchester Wine School, we are joining forces with Dave Marsland, founder of Manchester Rum Festival, for an evening of Rum and More in the Marigot Bay Bar & Café, Altrincham.

Dave’s an advocate for many different types of liquid refreshment - his shop Riddles Emporium has twice made the shortlist for the IWSC's Independent Spirit Retailer of the Year award. However, rum is his real passion – he’s visited the Caribbean several times, is an ambassador for several top rum brands and is the founder of the only rum festival in the city, the third outing for which will be next June.

As well as regaling you with stories of the West Indies, Dave will be introducing you to a number of different styles of rum from young to old, and you’ll be able to try them neat, mixed with ginger beer and tonic, and in a couple of cocktails. And because you’ll work up an appetite over the course of the evening, there’ll be some award-winning cheeses from Alty Market regular Burt’s Cheese.

Dave reckons he can only squeeze around 30 people into the Marigot Bay, so if you’d like to come along, better book early. And if you have friends or family who love their spirits, why not treat them to a place at the tasting for a Christmas present?

We can send a gift voucher which details the event so just book a place(s) below, let us know you need a voucher and we can arrange by email or post.
