France vs New World
Sorry - this tastng is now fully booked.
In this special tasting we will see how some of the classic French wines stand up against their New World counterparts. This 'taste off' will feature:
- A quality Sauvignon Blanc from the renowned Loire Valley vs a wine from the same grape from its New World rival, Marlborough New Zeland
- A benchmark Riesling from Alsace vs a classic Aussie version of the same grape from the Clare/Eden Valley region
- A classic Syrah based red from the Cotes Du Rhone vs a powerful Shiraz from South Australia
- A Cabernet Sauvignon based 'claret' from Bordeaux vs a similar blend from South Africa
It promises to be an intriguing and revealing evening of tasting with some excellent wines from each side of the Old World/New World divide, accompanied by the usual samples of cheeses and cold meats.
