WSET courses in Manchester

If you are looking for a formal, certified training, Manchester Wine School offers three WSET courses in Manchester City Centre:

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust, often referred to as WSET, is generally regarded as the world's leading provider of wine education.

WSET qualifications are globally recognised as the international standard in wine and spirit knowledge. The courses are perfect for the amateur enthusiast as well as staff working in frontline wine service roles in restaurants, bars, hotels and for those in wine retail sales.

We are an approved APP (Approved Programme Provider) with WSET and the 2015 Riedel WSET Educator of the Year Winner for our Local Wine School network. Many of the students from our network are recipients of WSET Scholarships meaning they achieved some of the highest marks in the country!

WSET Level 1 Award in Wines - £149.00 (1 full day) 

  • A beginner level introduction to wine.
  • You’ll explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accuratelythe practice of storing and serving wine, and make food and wine pairings.

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines - £349.00 (3 full days) 

  • An intermediate level qualification exploring wines and spirits.
  • This qualification explores the major grape varieties and important wine regions in which they are grown. You’ll learn about the styles of wines produced from these grapes as well as key classifications and labelling terminology.
  • Please note- you do not need to have completed WSET Level 1 in order register for Level 2.

WSET Level 3 Award in Wines - £675.00 (6 full days)

  • An advanced level qualification.
  • This qualification provides a detailed understanding of grape growing and wine making. Upon completion you will be able to assess wines accurately, and use your understanding to confidently explain wine style and quality
  • We recommend this course to those who have already completed the WSET Level 2 Wines and Spirits course, however, it  is not a requirement to have completed this prior to enrolment on this course. Please ensure you review the course specification.
